Adult Education

The spiritual journey of faith is a lifelong process that has barely begun at adulthood. At Saint Matthew’s we seek to encourage and equip our members to live with a vibrant faith in a challenging world. The Adult Forum features special guest presenters, as well as our own clergy and lay leaders. Recent guests speakers have included biblical scholars, youth specialist and pastoral counselors. On occasion we like to bring in an internationally known speaker or explore cutting edge issues by means of DVD videos and group discussions.

Pete Enns - Forum Speaker

Pete has been a visiting speaker at Saint Matthew's for over five years, and is very popular with our parishioners. His presentations at our adult education series are always well-attended. Our parishioners have the following to say about Pete: “Pete stretches your thinking. He is very thought provoking.” “Pete is intellectually stimulating, but never pedantic. He is personally very engaging.” “While Pete usually talks about the Old Testament, he always grounds his discussion in a clear love for Jesus Christ. He makes me ask myself – what is it that I believe?” Pete is also very good at applying biblical teaching to current-day issues. “Pete applies the topic to family problems that we all have. His calm, loving manner gives you confidence that a Christian can manage...” While Pete is very organized in his presentations, he is also very flexible, and is willing to follow tangents that are of obvious interest to the group.
