Lenten Schedule & Opportunities 2023

40 Days with Matthew | Last year, we read through the Gospel of Mark over the course of Lent. This year, we will do so with our patron saint. Each day in Lent, which excludes Sundays, there will be a brief passage that will lead us through the 28 chapters of Matthew. The readings for each day can be found on a handout available in the narthex, on our website and Facebook page.

Lenten Devotional | The daily devotional focuses on the famous hymn, “Amazing Grace,” which marks its 250th anniversary this year.

Lenten Friday | At 6 pm on the six Fridays before Good Friday, you are welcome to join us for Stations of the Cross, followed by a Lenten supper and program. During this time, Fr. Rodney will be leading us through a video series on the Catholic Faith. A sign-up sheet to bring food will be available in the narthex.

Lenten Children’s Clothes Drive | The Horsham Interfaith Coalition (HIC) has a Clothes Bank located at Riverside Church, serving our local community. HIC is holding their first Lenten Clothes Drive to stock the Clothes Bank with infant and children’s clothing (boys and girls 6 months through 12 years old), specifically pants, tops, sweatpants, parkas/hoodies, pajamas, coats, and NEW underwear and socks. A collection box will be placed outside the kitchen/parish hall doors.

Walk to Jerusalem | Beginning Ash Wednesday, February 22nd, our church family is once again invited to begin a virtual Lenten journey to walk 5,767miles from Maple Glen to Jerusalem. We encourage all members to embark on this mission to become more physically active while also fostering spiritual growth. We will be calculating our miles each week, and those interested are invited to walk together each Saturday @ 8:30 during Lent.
