Sunday School is open to children ages 3 through Grade 5, and runs throughout the school year. Children can start at any time during the program year.
St. Matthew’s has embraced the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) program for over 30 years. The teaching method is based on the work of Maria Montessori whose methods of educating and empowering children are world famous. Our program aims to nurture each child’s unique relationship with God using specially chosen and unique materials, prayer, song, reading and listening to the words and stories in the Bible, and spiritual self-exploration: “Help me come closer to God by myself.”
Teachers
- Nancy Cunningham and Nancy Williams lead the Preschool level 1 children (ages 3 to 5)
- Linda Baier and Linda Schindewolf lead the Primary level 2 children (Kindergarten to 2nd grade)
- Judy Groben leads the Senior level 3 children (3rd to 5th grade).
